Sargar had wrapped his right arm when he arrived at the medal ceremony. “There are two options with a sanket. To bring it back to India or take care of him here. After the initial assessment, we think the best is to treat him in the UK itself. We chat with elbow injury experts and the government has agreed to his treatment,” the team source said to PTI.

The 21 -year -old player from Maharashtra secured a silver medal after lifting a total of 248kg (113 Snatch, 135 Clean & Jerk). In Snatch, Sanken completed three clean efforts, lifting 107, 111, and 113 kg each time. He competed head-to-head with Malaysian gold medalist Aniq Kasdan, who also appointed 107 kg in his first experiment but could not do it cleanly in the next two efforts. Sanket then raised the sign by squatting 248 kg in total.

The two efforts, however, ended with a terrible elbow injury. Sanket, in an extraordinary step, returned for the third experiment, but it only made an injury worse and he could not finish the elevator. Weight has contributed to India’s success in this competition, including the gold medal won by Mirabai Chanu, Jeremy Lallrinnunga, and Achinta Shueli.
